The two stories family home, centered on achieving a connection between indoor and
outdoor environments with maximizing the views of the surroundings
and connection to nature from almost every aspect of the house which contributes to a
uniquely designed modern home.
The entrance of the house is placed between large car park on one side and on the other
side is a landscaped garden with a pergolas which forms patterns of shadows during
morning. This emphasis the architect’s idea on light and shadow.
Materials such as concrete, wood, glass mixed at perfect proportion completes the entire
building envelop. The openings in the wall are designed in such a way that windows and
doors are not distinguishable from one and other but the function of the openings have
been achieved and maintained throughout.
The concrete are left exposed which creates a raw effect of the material and thus
contrasts with the wood and glass emphasizing on the boldness of the building. The
architect’s aim on design of the building envelope was to set a language to the house
through its boldness and contrasts. One of the opening is covered with the ornamental
jali wall which brings in pattern of light into the interior.
The interiors are aimed at creating openness and views which brings a fresh and positive
attitude and the home feels vibrant with the presence of greenery.
The living room
has a
huge window which lets one to enjoy the scenery of the outdoor and also brings in fresh
air into the space making the users more comfortable and healthy.
The interiors are played with concrete and wood. These materials not only provide visual
sensitivity but also the finish of the materials triggers the senses of touch and feel
of the natural materials. Through this the building would always interact with its users
and does not stand alone as a separate piece of art.
